LINOCUT BEGINNERS COURSE: From Design to Your Own Print
Available Dates
In this multi-day evening course in Zurich-Wiedikon, you will learn the basics of linocut printing (or woodcut, if preferred) and create your own small edition of 5–10 prints.
From the first idea to the finished print, we guide you step by step through the entire process. You will develop your own design, transfer it to the printing block, learn safe carving techniques, and create your first test prints.
You will practice different carving techniques, understand positive and negative space, and learn how to ink the block properly. In the printing stage, you will work with hand-printing methods using a spoon or baren, as well as simple registration techniques.
Over the course of the workshop, you will develop your own print series, refine your design, and finish a small edition of your own signed linocut prints.
No previous experience is required.
