This workshop offers an introduction to Shibori, a traditional Japanese dyeing technique in which folding, binding, or clamping the fabric creates distinctive patterns. You will learn several beginner-friendly resist-dyeing methods and apply them by dyeing your own pair of socks in a rich indigo blue. Indigo is one of the oldest and most fascinating textile dyes in the world. For centuries, it has been used across many continents to colour fabrics and is still admired today for its deep, characteristic blue. Each dyed piece reveals its own individual pattern once unfolded, turning every result into a one-of-a-kind creation.

Includes:

  • All materials for one pair of dyed socks, including the socks (please let us know your shoe size)
  • The dye is fixed and the socks can be washed at up to 40°C thereafter
  • Finished pieces can be taken home the same day
