BOOKBINDING WORKSHOP: Make your own watercolour sketchbook
Available Dates
This workshop offers a fun way to try your hand at bookbinding. You will learn skills to craft your very own handmade watercolour sketchbook. You will handstitch a lay-flat sketchbook using good quality watercolour paper. Lay-flat sketchbooks make it easier to draw across the entire spread without the pages curving upwards. This format also offers a larger, unobstructed workspace and is ideal for botanical sketchbook studies or larger landscapes. We will provide a selection of quality decorative paper for you to design your own unique covers. And you'll also welcome to bring your own own cover papers.
At the end of the course, you will leave with a beautifully crafted A5-sized watercolour sketchbook with quality 300gsm watercolour paper, ready for you to fill with art. You will have a choice of working with hot pressed paper (best for botanical illustrations and detailed work) or cold pressed paper (more suited for landscape and impressionistic painting).
